Late Qing Dynasty to Early Republic, c. 1880–1920

This antique Chinese snuff bottle is finely crafted from vivid emerald-green glass in a classic lobed (melon-ribbed) form. The bottle was mold-blown, a traditional technique widely used during the late Qing dynasty, and reflects the enduring Chinese aesthetic of imitating jade in glass.

The bottle retains its original stopper and spoon, featuring a green stone or glass cabochon set in a metal collar, with a metal spoon and bone ferrule. The color is rich and luminous, with gentle surface variation consistent with hand production.

Snuff bottles were personal luxury objects in China, carried daily and prized for both beauty and function. This example is a strong representative of late 19th–early 20th century Chinese glass craftsmanship and makes an excellent addition to a snuff bottle collection or a decorative object in its own right.
