This striking Peking glass snuff bottle features a beautifully carved cobalt blue overlay depicting dynamic chilong (mythical dragon-like creatures) in graceful motion. Crafted using the traditional technique of applying a deeply colored outer glass layer over a lighter inner layer, the artist then skillfully carved the darker glass away to reveal the pale ground beneath. The result is a vivid, high-relief design with exceptional depth and contrast.

The bottle is topped with a matching blue cabochon stopper set into a decorative metal collar.  This is a classic example of Chinese overlay glasswork, this piece reflects the refined craftsmanship associated with late Qing to early Republic Period snuff bottles.

Era: Likely Republic Period (c. 1920–1940)    Condition: Excellent—no cracks or chips noted. A wonderful collectible for lovers of Asian art, glasswork, and historic snuff bottles
