An elegant late Victorian to Art Nouveau period amethyst and pearl bar brooch crafted in 18K gold, dating to approximately 1885–1900. The brooch features three rich violet amethysts alternating with luminous natural pearls, arranged across a delicately pierced gold gallery of flowing scrollwork.
Each gemstone is set in individually fabricated collet with prong mounts, a hallmark of hand-crafted 19th-century jewelry. The brooch retains its original  C-clasp, construction details typical of Victorian pieces made before the widespread adoption of locking safety clasps in the early 20th century.
Jewelry of this type was often worn at the collar of high-neck Victorian dresses, where alternating gemstones created rhythm and color contrast against lace and fabric.
The brooch weighs approximately 7 grams and has been tested as 18K gold. The pearls are most likely natural pearls, consistent with jewelry produced before cultured pearls became widely available.
A refined and wearable example of late Victorian craftsmanship, combining vibrant amethyst with the timeless elegance of pearls.

The brooch is presented in a fitted Kazanjian Jewels, Beverly Hills box, a distinguished luxury jewelry house known for fine estate and gemstone jewelry. While the box may be more recent than the brooch itself, it adds historical interest and enhances presentation.
